Cinio blynyddol CyP / CyP’s Annual Dinner

Cynhaliwyd cinio blynyddol Cymdeithas y Penrhyn yn Nhafarn y Maes, Capel Bangor nos Sadwrn 18 Mawrth.
Cafwyd amser difyr yng nghwmni’r siaradwr gwadd, Catrin M. S. Davies, Tal-y-bont.
Dechreuodd drwy ddangos un o’i thrysorau personol, sef hen lun o ferched ei theulu ar ochr ei mam, o ardal Cofadail, a dynnwyd yn stiwdio y ffotograffydd Ebenezer Morgan (1820-1906) yn Aberystwyth.
Hefyd, cafwyd straeon difyr am ei thaith ym Mangladesh wrth baratoi un o raglenni Dylan ar daith ar S4C.

Cymdeithas y Penrhyn’s annual dinner was held at Tafarn y Maes, Capel Bangor on Saturday 18 March.
The guest speaker was Catrin M. S. Davies, Tal-y-bont.
She showed us one of her favourite possessions – an old family photograph of her ancestors from Cofadail, taken in the studio of the photographer Ebenezer Morgan (1820-1906) in Aberystwyth.
She also spoke of her experiences in Bangladesh during the filming of a programme in the Dylan ar daith S4C series.

Noson Gwis / Quiz Night

Cynhaliwyd Noson Gwis, coffi a raffl yn Neuadd yr Eglwys nos Fawrth (14/3) er cof am y Parchg Lyn Lewis Dafis a Glyn Collins – dau oedd wrth eu bodd yn trefnu ac yn cynnal cwisiau trwy gyfrwng Zoom yn ystod y Cyfnod Clo ac wedi hynny.
Y cwis feistri oedd y Parchg Andrew Loat, y Parchg Lynn Rees, David Lucas, Richard Owen a Richard Huws.
Daeth y noson deyrnged i ben trwy osod portread Iwan Bryn James o Lyn Lewis Dafis ar wal y neuadd.

A packed Church Hall enjoyed a Quiz night, coffee and raffle on Tuesday (14/3) in memory of the Revd Lyn Lewis Dafis and Glyn Collins – both expert quizzers who enjoyed organizing quizzes on Zoom throughout the Covid Lockdown and beyond.
The quiz masters were the Revd Andrew Loat, Revd Lynn Rees, David Lucas, Richard Owen and Richard Huws.
A fitting tribute ended with the hanging of Iwan Bryn James’s portrait of Lyn Lewis Dafis.

Cymdeithas y Penrhyn: ymweliad ag Arloesi Aber

Kevin ‘Bones’ Jenkins (1963-2023)

Trist yw cofnodi marwolaeth Kevin ‘Bones’ Jenkins.

Roedd ei gyfraniad i’r gymuned ac yn enwedig i Glwb Pêl-droed Penrhyn-coch yn sylweddol ac y mae’r negeseuon niferus sydd wedi ymddangos ar y cyfryngau cymdeithasol gan unigolion a chan y gymuned bêl-droed yn gyffredinol yn dyst i’w boblogrwydd ar draws Cymru.

Estynnwn ein cydymdeimlad dwysaf â’i wraig Debbie ac â’i deulu.

It is sad to record the death of Kevin ‘Bones’ Jenkins.

His contribution to the local community and especially to Penrhyn-coch FC was considerable and the very many messages that have appeared on social media from individuals and from the football community in general are a testimony to his popularity across Wales.

Deepest sympathy is extended to his wife Debbie and his family.

Detholiad bychan iawn o’r cannoedd o negeseuon sydd wedi ymddangos ar y cyfryngau cymdeithasol yn dilyn y newyddion trist:

A very small selection of the hundreds of tributes that have appeared on social media following the sad news:

Mae’n pentre ni ar ei golled heddiw, a chwmwl du uwch ein pennau. Dyn angerddol dros ei fro a’i glwb, Cymro i’r carn a gwr bonheddig.
